Welcome New Member:  LaJoy Hanehano.  Last week welcomed our newest  member to our Rotary Ohana.  LaJoy has been involved with our local community and is a welcomed addition to our family.  Barbara LumLee is her sponsor.

Last week’s guest speakers:  Frank Montoya, Jr. was our guest speaker last week and he informed us about his career with the FBI as well as plans for the upcoming APEC conference in November.  I hope you found his presentation interesting. Mahalo to Jeff Dowdry who presented information about his vocation.  

Christmas Tree Fundraiser:  There is still time for you to turn in your order forms and payment for Christmas Trees, Wreaths and Door Charms.  Please bring this with you to our meeting on Thursday.  Or if you are unable to attend, call me at 227-5623 or email me your order.

Club Meeting on Thursday, 10/27/11:  this is a reminder that we will not have a morning meeting this week.  Down to Earth – Kapolei is hosting our club meeting at their store beginning at 5 p.m.   We get to experience a cooking demonstration and tasting in the Down To Earth kitchen.    Les Mookini, one of our newer Ohana members, is scheduled to share information about his vocation with us.  So…bring your appetite,  goodwill and fellowship and join us at the meeting. 

Polio Plus:  2-for-1 Recognition: During the week of 24-28 October 2011, donors will receive 2- for-1 recognition for every online contribution of US$100 or more made to PolioPlus on www.rotary.org/contribute.  We need your help to encourage members to donate online to make this promotion a success. You must be registered with Rotary’s Member Access prior to making an online contribution.  Member access provides Rotarians with online services and other important features. To register for Member Access, please visit www.rotary.org/memberaccess. The promotion will begin on 6 a.m., Central Standard Time (CST), on Monday, 24 October, and end at 12 noon sharp (CST), on Friday, 28 October. Please note that contributions on www.rotary.org/contribute are in US dollars and 11 other Rotary supported currencies, including AUD, CAD, CHF, DKK, EUR, GBP, JPY, NZD, NOK, SEK, ZAR. Also, online contributions cannot be made on behalf of another individual, club, or district.  We expect to have a high volume of online traffic associated with this promotion. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the promotional recognition to appear on your account and to request recognition materials.
