Kapolei Interact Club Valentine’s Sales Support Education in Uganda

The Kapolei Interact Club sponsored its annual valentine’s roses/balloons sale during the ending of January to raise money for children in Uganda to continue their education.  Roses and balloons were sold during lunch for $3.00 to $5.00 each.  Interact members manned the booth during the presale period every day for 2 weeks.  Over 200 roses and about 50 balloon bouquets were sold and delivered on Valentine’s Day.  Members arrived at school by 6:30 am to prepare the roses ordered from Watanabe Floral.  Members stripped the thorns, wrapped the roses in plastic sleeves, and tied ribbons with personalized tags to each flower.  Balloons were also filled with helium and prepped for delivery to students and teachers on campus.  This project was organized by Arielle Ragasa, a 4-year Interact member, as part of her senior project.  All proceeds will go toward an International Project--to adopt a female student in Uganda so she can continue her schooling and live a better life.
